The most important supplies a novice or a pro player should have before attempting to play a game of billiard is to have a set of cue sticks and chalk. This is the primary requirement for a player be it a novice or pro. Also the novice would have study the general rules governing the game of billiard, i.e. racking the balls, striking the cue ball, lag for break, and position of balls etc. other things to take note is the size of the balls because they do determine how you play, specifically it is recommended that the standard size of the ball should be about 5 to 5 1/2 oz and diameter 2 1/8” to 2 1/16” with tolerance of .005”. The billiard ball should be molded and finished in a perfect sphere, with both dynamic and static balance. Also the cues should have a tip width of 9mm minimum to 14mm maximum and should be composed of leather material or synthetic leather material. The weight of the cue stick not more than 25 oz and length of at least 40 inches.
